Lotus Esprit

Made famous by James Bond and coveted all through the 70s and 80s the Esprit is a world renowned British Classic. 

Unfortunately with a track record on un-reliability and a fragile fibreglass body, a lot of Esprits went unloved. 

Now a rare site on UK roads but still a thrilling drivers car, you can join a syndicate to own and an iconic british classic. 

Syndication Total - £120,000 (inc base vehicle and full restomod creation)

Syndicate Allocations - £20,000 x 6 allocations. 

Post Syndicate Value - £120,000-£150,000.

Annual Asset Under Mgmt -  £1000 per allocation (cover insurance, maintenance and storage)

Useage - 8 weeks per year across Peak, Mid and Off Peak weeks booked via our Syndicated Resto App.  

Delivery anywhere in the UK or collection from Nottinghamshire.

Base Model: Lotus Esprit Series 1 (S1)
Build Concept: Period-correct restomod – visually original, mechanically enhanced - Era: 1976–1978
Powertrain

  • Engine: 2.2-litre Lotus Type 912 Inline-4 (uprated)

  • Induction: Twin Dell’Orto carburettors (re-jetted and rebuilt)

  • Power Output: ~180–190 bhp (up from ~160 bhp stock)

  • Transmission: 5-speed manual gearbox (rebuilt, strengthened internals)

  • Exhaust: Lightweight stainless steel system (period-correct tone)

Performance

  • 0–60 mph: ~5.5 seconds - Top Speed: ~145 mph

  • Weight: Approx. 950 kg (lightweight composite body retained)

  • Driving Character: Analogue, lightweight, sharp steering response

Exterior

  • Exterior Colour: Solid White (original S1-correct finish)

  • Body: Glassfibre composite body, fully restored and panel-corrected

  • Aero: Original S1 front splitter and rear buttresses retained

  • Lighting: Period-correct pop-up headlights (modern motors for reliability)

  • Wheels: 15-inch period-style alloy wheels (S1 design)

  • Tyres: Modern performance tyres with classic sidewall profile

  • Trim: Black window surrounds, minimalist brightwork as per S1

Interior

  • Interior Colour: Lotus Check from period. 

  • Dashboard: Original S1 binnacle, restored with upgraded internals

  • Instrumentation: Smiths-style analogue gauges (refurbished)

  • Steering Wheel: Period-style three-spoke wheel

  • Carpets: Lightweight black carpeting with sound-deadening upgrade

  • Infotainment: Discreet Bluetooth audio (hidden installation)

  • Climate: Improved ventilation and upgraded heater controls

Chassis, Suspension & Brakes

  • Chassis: Original Lotus steel backbone chassis (fully restored or galvanised replacement)

  • Front Suspension: Double wishbone, uprated dampers and springs

  • Rear Suspension: Lower links and radius arms with uprated bushings

  • Brakes: Four-wheel disc brakes with upgraded calipers and braided lines

  • Steering: Manual rack, reconditioned for precision and feedback
